I'll be going to Philadelphia, PA on a business trip. Not too sure if I should extend.

Is is a nice place to go visiting and taking pictures?

Appreciate input from bros and sis out there who have been there.

Thanks so much.

David,

There are a few things to do in Philly:

1. The Liberty Bell.
2. Philadelphia Museum of Art.
3. If you are into baseball the Philadelphia Phillies play ball there.
4. The University of Pennsylvania is in Philadelphia, but it is not in a particularly good location.

The good news is that Philly is well located. There are buses and trains that can take you to New York City or to Washington DC.

hop on to the trolley bus for city sightseeing. $2 per ride or $5 for unlimited. visit reading terminal market etc. buses to other states are available near chinatown.
if time permit, you might wan to head off to atlantic city for casino, washington DC or New york City.

while i am in philly i hope to mainly just max & relax & spend some quality time with amanda. maybe see if there are good zines worth buying at the wooden shoe. re-acquaint myself with city living.

Hey thanks everyone.

Oh wow, I didn't know I could go to NYC or DC via bus/train! Thot I needed to take a domestic flight.

Ok, I'll bear in mind those places. Looks like I might just need to extend a couple more days in Philly. :)

The Chinatown buses can be booked here. As long as it is not a Public Holiday or weekend, getting tickets should be no problem. It is more flexible and cheaper than train or bus.

Oh, the Liberty Bell is located at Independence Hall. This is the image (Independence Hall) on the back of the USD $100 banknote.

Didn't get much brotherly love when i was there, less than friendly people. But had a ball with the museums. They had an exhibit on renaud back then. Lost myself there, didn't even complete. The rodin museum is nearby too. Spent an afternoon sketching forms with other art students lol
Pizza was good at the italian quarter

Definitely do the Rocky steps at the Philly Art Museum...while you are at it make sure you get a picture of yourself punching the air.

It is a 6-7 hour car ride from Philly to either one of those two places though so....its not too long a haul by American standards...

No. Philly to DC or Philly to NYC (Manhattan Chinatown) is only 2 hours by car or bus unless you are stuck in traffic....
