Hi all,

Thanks to sweat100 / Patrick for the outing. It is a great session to experience to learn and especially the hands-on from loading the film into the film holder to taking the image. We should have more of these sessions to "poison" more people to keep LF photography more alive, can't wait to see the results from this session.

I think its better to conduct the outing earlier so that there is more time for experiment during the hands-on session.

To: DM,
Thanks for letting me use your camera and the pointers during the sessions. I've gone thru the links and the video (finally), and bookmarked them for future reference as well. Thanks.

hi people. i had a good time. Its gg to take me a while to figure out but appreciate all the learnings and imparts!

*Scott! You left without us knowing!*

It was fortunate for me at the last minute to be able to attend this
first meeting in 2009, where everyone present was very eager
to know "what's next?"

The meeting was the first step towards the revival of the LF group.
I could only identify two photographers that afternoon previously
from that 2004 LF meeting i.e. (Clown and myself).

Surprisingly there was a large turnout, more than sixteen people
dropped by at Funan just to say "Hello" to one another.
However some left earlier because of other commitments.
Well we will be glad to have their support in future meetings.

Sweat100 did a brilliant job with the "getting to know you" stuff and
round up with a group photo taken with foxtwo's Sinar view camera.
In fact everyone put in so much effort to make the event successful.

You all are indeed a brilliant LF team that could rewrite the future
history of photography for Singapore.

Certainly there will be more events coming out soon.

-----------------------------------------------------
As a starting point, coming together,
discussing together, sharing accessories
together, identifying light qualities together
will make you realise that:
"One is too small a number to achieve greatness". ;) :)

Definitely enjoyed the outing, and it was really an eye-opener for us who never got the opportunity to handle those LF cameras. Thanks Patrick for organizing this, and thanks to all the LF photographers who shared your knowledge and expertise! :D

Hi all, I have sent every one a PM on the contact list and the cost. The slides turn out pretty all right for most of all. No loading mistakes or mis alignment issues. The most funny part is the group photo didnt turn out right, the photo had light leak and focus problems. :dunno: Gosh... Kinda strange. Haha... we can discuss this sunday at 1pm at cityhall. :)

Hehehe ... must see hoo loaded the feelem and hoo loaded the holder and hoo focused the lens?

Anyway, it's always a GOOD LEARNING EXPERIENCE.

Any idea where I can get 4x5 daylight developing tanks?

Can't do tray processing because I has no darkroomz :(

Can get it from adorama, BHphoto, or use your normal film dev tank just minus the reels. :)

I think the development would be uneven ... I'll just try next time! hahaha
Yay for 4x5.

Looks like fun!!!
I'll definitely come for the next outing.

Btw, not to OT but, does anyone has any film back for the older "graflex" mount (not the graflok, "graflex" ones have grooves on the side )?
recently aquired a 4X5 graflex slr (RB series B), any help is appreciated!

It would be much appreciated if you could show a picture of your
4x5 Graflex so that we could understand what this camera is all about
especially the film back that you are seeking.

Hope you can let us have a glimpse of your new toy at the coming meeting on Sunday.

:)

CONGRATS Yoricko and Starvingjack on your new acquisitions!

Yoricko, Sweat knows his stuff. In fact, I'm learning how to get around the 45 sheet devp issues myself.

Starvingjack, those backs, according to what I'm finding out, are not easy to find.

Your best bet might be overseas. Look up pacificrimcamera.com They seem to have a lot of experience with older cameras, including large formats. Other places you might have luck with are www.equinoxphotographic.com, www.eplevinescameras.com and www.mpex.com

I'm looking at the speedgraphic standard holder (Graflok), and a Graflex. They look like they could be or similar dimensions, and if that's the case, do you think attaching additional strips or wood or PVC to the top and bottom of a standard 45 holder to make the 'tracks' might work, if it's just a height issue? Or is the mechanism entirely different? Maybe someone else with more experience can chime in.

One alternative is to shoot using 120 film in the meantime. The 120 rollfilm holders are probably a lot more available.
