I'm interested in buying one but am wondering if it'll fit in their UPS worldwide saver box. This seems to be the cheapest option at around US$47 but I don't know if there are any size restrictions, after all it's a 1.5 m long item.

Has anyone bought items of similar size from them before?

don't worry about the box sizes, just choose from the shipping options they provide and they'll handle everything else.

Courier will have much less size/weight restrictions than mail services.

If in doubt, look up the specs/restrictions for whichever service you were considering.

Have fun!
