Hi,

Just to test the market of anyone would like to buy the 2.5" Qcool OTG external casing?

I got a fren who bought it and tested with Sandisk Ultra II with 974mb and only takes 6mins 58seconds to download all files.

If got sufficient qty then i may do a MO for that.....

Thank you for reading.

FYI, I bought my QCool OTG in '04. Works well with backups of CF, SD and xD.

I also used it to transfer data between PCs. Found on some PCs it cannot move more than a few hundred megs before hanging. OTG was charged but not full. When power plugged in works ok. Maybe power drain on USB port too much. Don't even know if it draws power from USB port. Did not have time to experiment to find conditions of hanging.

Have used to backup MS. Found a 256Mb Duo PRO, with adaptor not recognised by OTG. Same arrangement reads ok in a normal MS card reader.

I had needed to depress the reset button to get the OTG out of its slumber on some occasions. I wish there is a way to update the firmware to fix whatever issues the OTG has. The QCool website http://www.qcool.cn seems offline.

I have learned to live with the OTG's quirks - when I want to use the OTG to move data, along with its USB cable, I try to bring along the powerplug, together with a toothpick (non-pointy) for resetting.

Just in case you are interested.

Of course looking as cheap as possible, ha ha.... i thnk around SGD70-75 should be okay.

Upz...Anyone??? Looking around 20sets so that i can negotiate with them the price....

Chiat, looks like someone (smallobjects?) is selling the OTG for S$70.

Check out this thread http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=171496

It definitely looks newer than mine, so hopefully for you the bugs have been ironed out.

Another thought, with the factory website offline, perhaps they have decided to stop producing this line because of slow sales... and dumping stock.
