For $20/month broadband access is quite cheap except for 250mb limitation......
Anyone tried this product? Is it recommendable? Speed? I've been searching for broadband connection but I am not willing to pay $60/month since I am a light user.

Just beware of the 250MB limitation.
Everytime you access a website, you are practically downloading.
The more banners, graphics, images a website housed, the more you need to download.
If you always frequent the above mentioned websites, good luck to you then. $$$

Personally, I think 250 Mb is way too little. In any case, if you're a platinum user, you'll get 325 Mb.

You'll also have to remember that for this deal, you'll have to pay for the USB modem ($99) as well as the activation fee ($40). And if you intend to get the ethernet modem, you'll have to fork out an additional $130.

As a matter of fact, I was considering the jetpack a few weeks ago. Eventually signed up for the PacNet 512k.

to me jetpack is practically useless.. surfing clubsnap will kill the 250mb limit in days .. ;)

That's true. In fact, that's one of the reasons why I didn't choose jetpack. It's b'cos of CS :D

if u sign up for singnet 256k the promo one

considering the 6 mths 27 bucks
n 12 mths contract 55 usual price

sums up to 800++ in 18 mths

Well, that's what I did. PacNet 512K unlimited ;)

Activates this coming friday :D :D :D

The activation fee is waived now for JetPack....
But true 250mb is quite small, that's why yesterday I bit confused whether I want to sign up or not.
512/256mb unlimited package is good but I don't like 18mths contract......and normal price for 1 year......
Anyone using SCV/StarHub broadband? Anyone can share information about this service?
pac net is 50 bucks a mth
Is this unlimited access too? Noi contract? Free modem?

SCV is unlimited and u rent the modem as part of ur bills. Dunno whether the $66 offer still there. if u dun upload much, maybe scv or 512K more worth it. I noe i can hit 250mb in a few days downloading comics and anime. :D

Hi Guys,
Do you think is safe for 18mths contract with Singnet since we know that the price for broadband subscription is getting cheaper and cheaper......I am afraid the price is slashed say to $20/mth but I am stuck with my contract....

Broadband deal/price will always drop. It's near certain that you will miss out something in the next 18mths. But since this is not going to stop, or change, you should sign up with the plan that best fits your needs, within your budget and also with a comfortable contract period.

Jetpack?
Its a joke.

I can use that all up in like, erm, 6 hours? (Disclaimer: That's if I'm not downloading these nice movie trailers, the new mandrake ISOs, gaming, or something) At a conservative 180kbps, I can finish that in less than half an hour. ;p

Note that 250MB is ! enough for gaming! Gaming sucks bandwidth like no tomorrow. Most games I play can suck like 15kbps or more, both ways. I normally queue large files to be downloaded (with transfer limit cap) in the background while I'm just playing for fun. :)

And IRC addicts shouldn't get this plan - 250MB will not be enough. Even though its all text...text takes up lots of space too.

This plan, maybe for that auntie who turn on the computer once a week, surf some cooking websites, etc etc. :D

Heck, download M$ service packs and patches will finish off that 250MB. :bsmilie:

i can't agree more DO NOT USE BANDWIDTH LMITED PLANS!

i was using unlimite all the way until one day my promo expire and i got limit of 250MB also then guess wat, my bill was $800+ DO NOT EVER TRY THAT! :)

I think it is hard to be a 'light' broadband user. Trust me, once you are hook to it, you will want more and more and more. Dialup would never be enough. I believe this package is basically to lure basically undecisive type of whether to jump on the broadband wagon.

I am personally not on an unlimited broadband plan (Magix ATM). I have always exceeded my allocated time. Sometimes I overshot by hundreds of dollars, really. I had one colleague who was on Singnet limited plans, and happily went on downloading using some P2P program. At the end of the month, the bill came to over $3000. I had a good laugh. No worries for the guy though, he just had some explanation to do for the company which is playing for him.

i bet he download porn :p

I think they have a maximum cap these days. THe most you need to pay is 80$. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Are you sure activation fee is waived? I just went with my friend to sign up for the jetpack on Sat and she had to pay the activation fee. :dunno:
