i ordered a earpiece from overseas, and the shipment came back with a cut wire..inside there are 4 wires (which are now broken), and i need to get them joint back...anyone has any idea which shop in SLT or SLS provides this service?

Easiest is to get heat sleeve?

4 tiny heat sleeve and 1 slightly bigger sleeve to cover them up.

i need to get these two parts joint back together...seamless if possible...any shop in SLT does this service?

you are in deep **** those are enamelled wires. one of the hardest things to solder. i doubt its fixable, but you can try speaker hospital.

slt 3rd floor, near the escalator, i think the shop is called tai cheong. dont keep your hopes up.

try Alan at 3rd floor Sim Lim Square.

his shop is at the back alley. you will see a lot of old Hifi stuff.

quite simple lah, but abit ugly, like my self made connector for my 322RC2 to minolta trigger.

like what dominator say, but lucky thing i have tinning solder pot, so i stripped a longer area, put in 4 small tubes, then twist & tin, then heat shrink each of it, then use a bigger black one to cover up everything.

yah man.. that was my first reaction when I first saw the pics.. :bsmilie:

speaker hospital might turn you away cos they dun like to do 'low end' stuff. Though the place look run down, they have their pride to do only stuff 'worth their time and your money"

Perhaps u could try LHS at Sim Lim Tower 2nd level. They specialise in customising cables and termination. Of course, u hv to pay a small fee lah. :bsmilie:

Maybe if it's feasible, a more drastic action would be to recable the entire earpiece from scratch (instead of trying to join back the split end).

But that's a wild guess on my side though.

went to speaker hosp, and the uncle there say he dun even know what's soldering...

wow that guy sounds really like an ahole

oh yeah, i forgot to tell you that, they are quite painful to deal with...

DIY ?

You need
- a pair of wire cutter
- cord cover (ensure the correct size)
- soldering iron
- solder
- hair dyer

1. Strip both the wires end using wire cutter
2. Insert the cord cover into the wire cord
3. Solder the wires together (same color wires solder together)
4. Cover the exposed wires with cord cover
5. Use the hair dyer to blow on the cord cover

its enamelled wire the insulation just cant be stripped just like that...
