Hi,

What Lens do you bring when you go overseas?

Hi,

What Lens do you bring when you go overseas?

24-70mm, 2 Nos of 70-200mm, TC 20 so that I have a range of 24 to 400mm, plus 2 bodies. Very heavy but all worth it

Hi,

What Lens do you bring when you go overseas?

depends on your purpose of trip...
for leisure? you wont wanna get burden down by equipments...
for sight seeing and photography... you sure wanna have enough equipments inclusive of tripods... thus weight will not be an issue...

get down to the skeleton... whats your intention when you're overseas and are you prepared to get burden by lots of equipments to cover all angles and purposes... or you're just leisure around and wanna be as light and convenient as possible

AFS 18-200mm VR is my choice :)

5d2 + 28 f1.8 + 85f1.8 + 580ex2

I usually bring along a compact PnS along with a DSLR(used to be DX only but had added an FX body last year, so more options) when travelling and use it as a back-up. Which body i bring really depends on where & how i am travelling.

FX - 16-35F/4, 50F/1.4 and 105F/2.8.

DX - 11-16F/2.8, 35F/2 and 85F/1.4.

All the heavy lenses(eg. 24-70 or 70-200) are not in my considerations for travelling.

If its for leisure sightseeing, with bare min. equipment, what is a good range?
Since I will be travelling with kids, I prob will not have much time to spare on photography (that is can't spend much time on any specific location - i.e touch and go)

What lens do you have now?

For me, I will bring a 18-200 and maybe a 35mm f1.8 for low light shots... Will also bring a small flash, SB-400.

A 16-35mm and a 70-200mm lens on a full frame body will do. A tripod is a must if you like landscape photography.

For a walk about lens, a 24-105 range will do.

Previously,
10-22mm + 18-200mm + 50mm/1.8 + Di466 flash + tripod

Up and coming,
10-22mm + 17-55mm/2.8 + 70-300mm + Di466 flash + tripod

A lot depends on weather and location. The more cooling it is, the easier it is to carry without sweating like a pig. Sometimes, no need to bring everything out, can leave some of it in the hotel if not needed.

for me I only bring

50mm
17-40
1 more zoom len but I forgot the range liao.. (not mine, borrow from fren.. hahahha)
