Any group focused on underwater photography?

Hi. I am interested in learning diving. Heard Singapore is a good place to do this. My interest is not so much for the mirth of diving in itself, but for underwater photography.

Question: where do I start? I'll need to familiarize myself with a whole new world of underwater -- learn diving, get a license, then learn how to put my Nikon in one of those glass cases, etc etc. Are there any groups of people with a similar intent? Or a group that already does this and might be willing to take on a rookie trainee?
