Any good Beginner's Jap book/CD to recommend?

Noticed some here know Japanese...

Can please recommend any shop that sells easy to understand Jap book for beginners?

I'm looking not just the commonly used phrase books type but also one that touches a little on the grammar and how to write.

You can look for such books at Kinokuniya. There's a learning Japanese corner, where there are all kinds of books.
