Any good advices for 3rd party lens?

Any good advise on any f2.8 3rd party lens(Canon mount)?
Eg. Sigma, Tamron, Tokina...

In terms of their sharpness, DOF, color, picture texture and price?
Heard that theTamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di is very sharp...

2 I have used and will recommend to anybody;

1) Tamron 28-75/2.8.

Pros: Sharp, good build, lightweight (for a 2.8)
Cons: No USM (still pretty quick AF), colour cast too warm for my liking

2) Sigma 70-200/2.8 HSM

Pros: Really sharp! Fast focussing HSM, nice build, neutral colour (my preference, YMMV)
Cons: No IS, paint peels off (no big deal)

The Tamron 28-75/2.8 has a very nice bokeh to boot

One thing to note about the Sigma 70-200/2.8 is that images tend to be a tad soft at 200mm wide open. Then again, I'm picky. Whether you find the sharpness acceptable or not is up to you

I second the contrast and sharpness of the 70-200mm f/2.8. But a white lens with IS never hurts

IIRC most of the shots here were taken with the Sigma 70-200.

I take back my word... the #3 & #4 ones... are sharp after look over and over again... :embrass:

No one using Tokina f2.8 lens? :dunno:

Bros, may I add something? There is absolutely no way in gauging whether something is sharp or not sharp from a 600 pixels length image on the monitor. Not even 1000 or what. You gotta print it out big or post the full file, or 100% crops of the center/sides/corners.
