Miss using my old oly c4040 with f1.8.

So is there any new/current camera with a f1.8 lens + good iso800

oly c5050 rocks! ... But, I wonder whether the fuji f10/f11 high iso can make up for the missing large aperture??

I remembered the Canon G2 was f2 (max) then. Not sure about recent models. Mayb can check it out...

i think sony got a few f1.4 models ... but older ones lah .. not sure if got newer ones ...

I suppose if u want f1.4 for the speed, F10/F11's high ISO SHOULD compensate ba... Sounds logical to me...

does the old Canon 7s RF film camera qualify as a point and shoot?
F1.8 ? that's for sissies.... Canon 7s has a F0.95 lens.
old Yahsica Lynx RF has a F1.4 lens.

Olympus C5050Z - no doubts about it!

But is it still selling new?

I thought replace by c7070 / 8080 models:dunno:

and canon g6? any user can comment? useable iso800??:dunno:

Hehehe.

Canonet QL17 — definitely not new, not current either, but they don't make cameras like they do in the 60s and 70s anymore!

To appropriately answer your question: the oly 5050Z.

nope. unusable at ISO400 even. u want f/1.8 and ISO800 -> DSLR with 50mm f/1.8

I'm using 300d with an 35/f2:)

but I miss my c4040 (size and bright lens)!

I posted this thread as I never keep up on the point and shoot market as it changes too fast.

Hope to see new cameras with f1.8/f2 with usuable iso800. (fuji f11 is the closest now...)

The canon G3 is a good cam with a 1.8 lens, 4megapix and its still the best G series cam i think...the noise levels were good for a camera during its time...

I have a canon G6 and though it has an f/2 lens, it is unuseable at ISO 400. The noise is horrible. ISO 100 is great and 50 is excellent. 200 will work at a pinch, with proper NR it is pretty decent.

thanks for sharing but it's not available new... just like my c4040 or c5050:)

so f/2 at iso200 is still not as good as f2.8 at iso400 of fujifilm f11?
