currently, it's still a monsoon season in HK

I think HK summer is even hotter than Singapore... But September is still quite hot. If weather is a concern, I would suggest going there around late October.

yes, oct is a very good month... but now adays, p.r. of china nationals can go to hk w/out visas... so it will be extremely crowded too

but fine weather...

second that i went during mid oct last year the weather ws preety fine but just that its haze pissed me off

But wife wants to go in the summer to get clothing bargins. October don't have much bargins and December/January clothing bargins are not suitable for Singapore.

For me, any time is fine, rain or shine, I will be inside Wing Shing, Tin Cheung, etc... so not a problem for me.;p

If for weather only, the best time should be right after the mooncake festival, the air becomes clearer and dryer and more windy, good for photography and easier to walk around too.

i am goin next wk... so wats the weather like? i hope its not too hot.... though

Assuming you're going for Canon... fyi, Canon SG started slashing prices of some its lenses, making it closer to HK's. The diff now can be less than $100 for a particular lens. Suggest you weigh in whether the price diff is worth it.. bearing in mind that Canon SG sometimes gives additional 3 months warranty (at least that's what I got when I purchased a 17-55 last year).

:Later,
