That's quite a good composition for #2 but unfortunately sharpness is lacking. Is it due to over-cropping or is it just OOF? Try to focus on the eyes next time or just switch to MF since at 100mm and f2.8, it is pretty easy to focus. :)

Below is uncropped. I also don't understand why these kittens shots lack sharpness even though i am sure that they are not OOF. I don't know whether it is due to their fur pattern and characteristics because i also face the same problem with leopards, cheetah and some kittens with unique patterns. Probably because their fur are much more fine and thus are more sensitive to light compared to lion, etc.. Maybe some of you here can help post some cheetah shots under the sunlight and we can compare notes.

May be DOF problem? Try play with aperture.... or otherwise....faulty lens! ;p
