This shy and nocturnal flying lemur was once thought to be near extinction. However, in a research done recently, it was concluded that this furry mammal is thriving relatively well in Singapore's nature reserves. One of the reasons cited was that they are not fussy eaters, feeding on a variety of leaves, and has no predators.

In an article that appeared in The Straits Times dated 29 Nov 2003, it was cited that there are only two species of flying lemur in the world, both of which are found in South-east Asia, and their closest relatives are not known, although experts say they could be primates or bats. Isn't that interesting? :D

Hope to share an image captured.
