I'm not sure if anyone else experiences this, but whenever I want to edit my shots in CS4, the photos open at 0.07% size instead of seeing the whole picture. While that merely means I just have to increase the magnification everytime I open a picture, I'm wondering why is it like this. CS2 could open a full-sized D300 photo at about 16%, which is just nice for an overall view. Why can't CS4 do that for me? :dunno:

Is your monitor set to a standard resolution? Someone had a similar issue but they were running a non standard resolution. Perhaps try that?

Perhaps create an action to change the zoom level when you open files?

Hmm... What do you mean by standard resolution? My laptop is a 13.3" widescreen model. The screen resolution is 1280 x 768. I don't think the resolution is the case, because I have both CS2 and CS4 installed, and CS2 can open photos in normal viewable size.

No la, don't need to create an action. I'm just curious why it's this way.

Any other suggestions? =)

Just press 'Ctrl 0'.

... but I don't know the cause of your problem.

If you're on mac.. maybe the preference file for CS4 was corrupted?
You could try deleting/renaming it and restart CS4 to see if it helps.
However, you would need to set all your preference again.

Cheers,
