Hi,

Showing some pictures taken during my recent trip to Amsterdam. Not much time for sightseeing, as I was there for a business meeting. These pictures are taken during a 2-hour stroll around the city. Hope you enjoy viewing, and all comments are welcomed!

Thanks

Somehow, many buiding are slanting. They looked like they are going to tople over. This is not barrel distortion ;) and I am not aware of the reason for this:

Street performers on the Dam Square, in front of the Royal Palace. The guy on the right covered his face because I did not pay him.

How did you stop the vibrations? Or you did not press the camera to the window?

Thanks to all the compliments.

I am not sure of the name of the mountains. The plane was flying south over Chengdu (Sichuan provice), and the mountain ranges from west of Chengdu all the way to the Himalayas.

The camera was not pressed against the window when I took the shot. It was pretty bright. Here's the exposure record of that shot:

Learnt that it is legal to sell and smoke marijuana there. You can catch the smell easily while walking on the streets.

See the following picture of a shop window, and you will know what I mean:

Hi,

I am using a Nikon CoolPix 995. You CP885 should be good enough for many types of photography.

I was in Amsterdam for 2 days on a business trip. I am an engineer in the compunter business, desinging peripherals.

Regards.

Roy

wow  can get to travel around....btw any diff between my 885 and your 995? u got a degree in computing rite? where did u get it....cause i kinda interested in going overseas to persue a degree in architecture....any good place:thumbsup:

I can only tell you the major difference between 998 and 885:

- 995 has a swivel lens
- 995 has more manual control

Sorry I am not familiar with the details.

I don't have a degree in computing, but in engineering instead. Got that in NTU in Singapore. I'm afraid I will not be able yo advice you on Architecture...
:embrass:

Regards

Roy
