Alert: DAL 35mm red is different from K-x red

Just got my DAL 35mm f2.4 from Japan in RED.
The mounted pictures (taken with my PnS) shows colour difference:

I'd say the lens red is a more vibrant red, the k-x, in comparison is more muted.

So those looking for an true exact match, this is going to disappoint somewhat.
But still! For an OTT setup, apart from the gold ones I think pink and red are :thumbsup: :lovegrin:

K-x bought in April. Will fade off arh the colour!?! :O

Also my PnS white balance I leave to auto, but adequate to show colour difference between the two.

K-x red is actually not that red, it looked like faded red. but they changed it on k-r and the DA 35mm which is deeper red.

oooo i c...... always thought that the K-X was ferarri red from online images and when i saw the camera at shops....looks like it only looks more pale when something even brighter red is put beside it ha...

I think it's all relative. One red still got another red redder.
It's only under comparison that I realise k-x is not the reddest yet! Wow, then the new k-r must be really really eye-catching.

k-x red is more 'pinkish' than k-r red..your new DAL 35 mm red will be a good match for the red k-r

The DAL white is slightly different from the Kr white also.
Just enjoy the lens, its my 1st prime after all the zooms and Im hooked.

Looks like it was meant for the Kr then?
In anycase, apart from the owner, I don't think anyone will notice. In fact, if they do they would think its part of the pattern with 2 different shades of red.

Thats y I sticked to Kr instead of K5, even though I know how good it is.

i actually like it in black i wouldn't dream of bringing a K-X or a K-R into out into heavy snow and i was faced with that recently.

i am happy for you that your K-R gives u so much joy

hoya was really spot-on in identifying this new niche. the other players have saturated the market with boring black cameras. making them in other colours sure turned out to be a winner :thumbsup:
