The AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR is a 2.5x super-telephoto zoom lens that supports the 200-500 mm range of focal lengths with a maximum aperture of f/5.6. Adoption of ED glass elements achieves superior optical performance with which chromatic aberration is suppressed.

In addition, the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR is equipped with a vibration reduction (VR) function that exhibits the highest level of camera shake compensation available with a NIKKOR lens—equivalent to a 4.5-stop increase in shutter speed. It is also equipped with a SPORT VR mode, which enables effective photography of athletes and other subjects that move quickly and unpredictably. What's more, the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR is equipped with an electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism that enables stable exposure control with high-speed continuous shooting for comfortable hand-held shooting that captures the decisive moment as a wild bird flaps its wings, or of an airplane in flight.

This super-telephoto zoom lens brings distant subjects closer and makes them stand out from backgrounds with the shallow depth of field and large bokeh (pleasing blur characteristics) common to this type of lens. The AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR is a super-telephoto zoom lens that allows anyone, from those new to super-telephoto photography to experienced photo enthusiasts, to easily enjoy sharp, blur-free rendering throughout the entire zoom range.

Just sold off my Nikon fx gear. Ugh. Hahaha

If its nearly as good as Canon's 400 f5.6.... Well. That would be a tough decision.

AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR

Primary Features
• Versatility and performance, maximised

Designed for photographers seeking a balance of versatility and performance in a lens for telephoto shooting, the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR is an FX-format compatible, 2.5X super-telephoto 200-500mm*1 zoom lens. With its fixed maximum aperture of f/5.6, the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR captures vibrant images that are rich in detail, even from afar.

• Effortless creation with sharpness and clarity
Aiding in delivery of stunning sharpness and contrast, even at larger apertures, is the incorporation of Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements. Supporting the busy photographer on the go, these glass elements minimise chromatic aberration, liberating the photographer from tedious adjustment processes.

• Movement capture made easy
Be it spotting riverfront critters in their natural habitats, or snapping the split moment of high adrenaline sporting action, the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR excels in the reduction of image blur caused by camera or hand shake. Photographers will be able to achieve sharper shots, with defined image quality, when shooting in low-light conditions or without a tripod. The Vibration Reduction (VR) system in the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR has an effect equivalent to a shutter speed of 4.5 stops faster in ‘NORMAL’ mode*2. A second VR mode shooting option, ‘SPORT’ mode, is also available to support smooth capture of subjects that are moving unpredictably.

• Precise, intuitive control
Exposure control becomes intuitive and seamless for photographers shooting outdoors who are no longer subject to the challenges of changing light conditions or passing clouds. During high-speed continuous shooting, the AF-S NIKKOR 200- 500mm f/5.6E ED VR provides smooth and stable auto exposure control with the adoption of an electromagnetic aperture mechanism.

AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.8G ED

Primary Features

• Big pictures for big imaginations
With a shorter focal length, photographers can now get closer to their subjects, while drawing emphasis to their desired focus, enhancing beauty in perspective with a greater amount of background blurring. The AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.8G ED brings wide-angle performance to photographers with a big appetite for beautiful images. From striking skyscrapers and landscapes, to everyday scenes of foreign cultures and novel travels, this fast, wide-angle 24mm*3 prime lens has an f/1.8 maximum aperture which supports dynamic captures with natural bokeh.

• Advanced optics, distinguished image quality
Photos retain incredible details and dynamic colour, driven by outstanding NIKKOR optical components within the lens. ED glass and aspherical lens elements work to reduce chromatic aberration and distortion, while Nano Crystal Coat minimises unwanted ghosting and lens flare. Superior image rendering, even at the image edges, is achieved in a compact and light design, making the AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.8G ED a perfect, indispensable “carry-everywhere” lens from day to night.

• Designed for the road
Photographers should not be weighed down by heavy equipment, in their continuous pursuit of great images. More mobile and compact than ever, the AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.8G ED delivers the same renowned NIKKOR optical performance in a lens body weighing only approximately 355g. With compact gear, photographers have the flexibility to pack smarter, travel lighter and aim higher.

At that price range, awesome :)

Maybe they took the Tamron 150-600 VC and cut out the poorer ends, added OEM's AF algorithms and turned it into the Nikon 200-500 VR. The tripod collar looks similar too. Lol. Pure speculation.

Started negotiations with home affairs / finance ministry for purchase approval.: smile:
