AF-S = Autofocus, with silentwave motor 18-70mm = Focal length of lens VR = Vibration Reduction - which the AFS 18-70mm f3.4-4.5G does not have. (If have, please PM me, I will be very interested. ) f/3.5-4.5 = The minimum aperature setting of the lens for its focal range. G = The 'G' Letter denotes that lens does not have a aperture ring. The aperture setting needs to be set via the camera body.
