Advise On Negative Scanning

hihi... people with knowledge. Can someone enlighten me who is a nubbiee?

I need some tips on how to scan negatives into coloured digital image.

Currently I am using hpc1350 All-in-one printer, i am scanning photos from glossy prints which make the scanned photos very bad.

The program that comes with all-in-one, is unable to scan negatives.

Do you guys have any idea of how can I make use of the current scanner I have to scan negatives???? can recommend any freeware?? or tip me with techniques in using photoshop to do it ?

I am using photoshop Cs2.

Whether the scanner can scan negatives dependent on ur scanner, not any software.

you must get a delicated film scanner or film and flat-bed scanner.

alternatively u can try one of the labs if u are not about to jump into a film scanner...

KT at chinatown does pretty good scans at a reasonable price....
depending on where u stay, there is always grace digilab in the west etc etc.....

Thanks alot for ur advise .
Transportation cost is not a problem for me currently, cuz I student and have concession .

Can advise me on the cost of scanning for the various shops ?
