Hi,

I dunno if this is possible. That is, scan my 4R photos using at least a 3600 x 2400 dpi scanner and print them as 8R. Do you think the 8R will be sharp and clear? Anyone done that before?? kindly advice

many thanks..

It will not be as sharp as clear as the original film scanned using a proper scanner but it might be acceptible. I woud'nt reccomened it if you still have the orignial negs.

Thanks for reply.

I do not have negatives. If given a choice to choose either 4R photos (which can be scanned) or a JPEG file with resolution 1800 x 1200, which one will u choose? Keeping in mind that I hope to print the photos in 8R.

I'd take the 1800x1200 , extrapolae to about 2400x1600 and do some post work to remove artifacts :) Actually 1800x1200 is about 150dpi for a 12x8 print and is pretty ok.

which is the source? the 1800x1200 pic or the 4R photo? printing from the original source will usually yield the best results because every time u print or scan, u lose some details.
