Hi guys!

I am interested in buying a flash for my EOS50E. Budget is less than 150 if possible but can go to max. of 200 dollars.

Please advice me on which flash to purchase.

Thanks in advance.

For 3rd party flashes, you can look at the Metz or Sunpaks (if you can find one).

Klause...
go for the 420EX or Sigma500 man.... ard $300

Why dun u buy 540EZ?
since eos 30 cannot do ettl then get a second hand 540ez
there are many many floating in the ceond hand market for a good price

EOS 30 cannot do E-TTL? Are you sure? EOS 30 and 50 are Type A camera bodies and they do support E-TTL!

sorry

30 and 50 do ettl

but 50 cannot do ratio flash

I probably save up to get 420EX. =) After i buy my 28-105mm ;p

would rather get the sigma super st!

Playing ard with flash ratio is an expensive option if you're really into it. Even the 420EX doesn't allow manual control of flash output.

If you're serious about doing some flash raio techniques, you need several 550EX. Very ex!! If you're not into all this sophistication (don't be misled by what some people tell you, if you don't need it, don't buy it!), then a 420EX is a good option, though I think the out-of-production 380EX is excellent too.
