Maybe that is too chim for TS, his question is why a man has a look like this can attract a pretty woman to fall for him.

Power is like a sexual aphrodisiac for men as well as women. The lady is attracted to his power and what it entails
for her ( benefits).That's why women are willing to be mistresses..for what these men can provide compared to normal average salaried men. Good looks are secondary to power and status.Very few men who are as powerful have good looks to go with it.Nature is fair you can't have everything.Eg. Stephen Hawking, famous english scientist who came down with muscular dystrophy.His wife divorced him and his private nurse ended up marrying him.Luck or the beauty of his mind and scientific /celebrity status.

There is no universal law that say beautiful women only can mate with handsome men.That's why in tv dramas ( and real life)the man always must have strong ambition to succeed financially or position of power to "gain" respect and recognition from the lady he wants to impress. Who wants to be with a loser..why men marry foreign brides,at least to ensure copntinuity of his family line when local women will "reject" his "type". The mating game has not changed much throughout history.

Edit: There is anecdote that balding men have high testosterone levels which make them
sexually attractive to females.( the chasing game, chase means like or desire.. positive signal).

The female will always seek out the powerful male in pack to mate. The alpha male?
I think the order of priority of choice would be Power, Stability....and lastly good looks.
