Hi, I am using Canon DPP for processing RAW images.. but I do own the Adobe CS5 and hence sometimes uses ACR for processing RAW as well.
Mostly I shoot RAW ... but saw quite a lot of good reviews on Lightroom...

Any recommendations/experiences to share regarding Canon DPP, Adobe LR or ACR? ... beside the advantages of management of files, what other major benefits of using LR? DPP is useful but frankly it can be limited... the only main point is that its Canon owned and hence "Canon knows its own product best" ...

Some concerns is if switch fully to ACR or LR, any issues to take note of in terms of colour management for example?

Why not download the trial for LR4 and try it yourself? See if you like it.

Calibrate your screen, otherwise all editing is pointless. Colour Management / embedded ICC profiles is only relevant to exported files, the RAW files are independent from colour space, they are just RAW.
