AC Adapter EH-5a/EH-5 (For D700)

I don't see any thread or any statement from the user guides that I can use this adapter while the batteries are in the camera. Do I have to take out the batteries before using this adapter?

Why do you want the battery is inside the camera, while using the AC adaptor ?

So that I don't have to remove the batteries every time I use the AC Adaptor. (Just like a notebook).... and I understand that it doesn't charge the battery.

Anyway, someone from another forum stated that it is not required to remove the batteries. Thanks for your comments.
