Yar i was also deciding among the two (at last year's PCshow) but i ended up buying the A80, partly because of a good package deal. Main diff is the swivel LCD and the MP..

Maybe this could help:

i like the swivel LCD but dont mind about the MP, never plan to print out the photos. with a big diff in the cost, headache

the swrivel lcd really makes a big diff.. u can explore teh possibilities of taking pic in diff perspective.. can use it eg a waist level cam, those medium format kinds and immpossible shots wif the swrivel lcd....

So the main different is the lcd and the MP.
A75 retails at 499, A80 at 699.
Don't think I will pay additional 200 for the lcd. 4MP doesnt make much different compare to 3.2MP.
A75 is value for money. :)

ya, 200 is way too much with the function almost all the same.
if only it is like 50 more then will consider...
but the swivel LCD will like break easily anot?? cause moving part are fragile... :)

haha...a careless and chu lu user like me also never break the lcd u think easy to break anot?...the lcd is quite useful and when u turn it right...the feel is there...not too tight and not to loose

A75's LCD is larger than A80, also use new tech

the LCD could only turn 270 degree, that means we can't take overhead shots??

Yes u can - overhead or low level shots are possible with the swivelling LCD.

A80 now made in china liao last time still japan... dunno abt the A75

Our neighbour up north makes the A75. I wonder if it's cheaper to buy the A75 in Malaysia since it is made there.

A75:the CCD size is so small.

What's a CCD?
Does it affect the quality of the picture a lot?

Don't think will buy in Malaysia, just kind of feel weird to buy electronics equipment there.

the CCD(electronic coup device) is the digital film of the camera. when you shoot with a digicam, the CCD captures the light from your lens and translate to your image.

yes, to a large extend, the lens plays a big part in picture quality too

i think its more expensive to buy digicams from our northern neighours.

i checked that CCD for A75 is 3.2 million , 1/2.7 inch while A80 is 4 million , 1/1.8 inch.

So the A75 really considered much smaller compared to A80?

you should know lot knowledages from "Google"

the size of CCD is more large more better.

CCD is a good parameter on DC. the size of that is more important than the actual pixels.

Belle&Sebastain, did you agree with me?

;)
