A7m3 with old A-mount lenses problem

I recently tried my Minolta 80-200mm f/2.8 on the A7m3 with the LAEA4 adapter and the auto-focus did not work. So did the manual focus. My previous A7m2 worked beautifully without any problems.
Anyone had this issue or know what I should or should not be doing that is causing this problem?

You can bring your lens n adapter to the Sony showroom to test with the display set. Then you will know where the issue is.

I read about the LAEA4 dont work on newer A7 series, LAEA3 does due to PDAF. You try to get a LAEA3 and see how. All the best
