From what I know (learned it from somewhere in another forum), Sony instituted minimum prices that retailers can sell some of their products (which includes DSLR cameras and lenses), so the price won't get too much different from SonyStyle. You can just get the price from Sony website, it would give you an idea on how much it costs.

However, you may get better bundle of extra stuff (batteries, CF card, pouch or something else) when purchase from camera shops.

Well, as I said, they want cash. If pay in CC (installment), the price diff. So, I just get from SS lor. Then again, maybe is just my luck?

If I am not wrong other shops also offer interest-free installment too... they are also cheaper than SonyStyle... :think:

Usually the outside retailer shops can give a bit discount on the SRP.
Then still can ask them throw in more freebies if possible. Whereas Sony Style has strictly fixed price,
unless they have some kind of clearance sale which seldom happens.

That why when I see someone buying an alpha from the Sony Style shop.... In my heart "thank" them for helping with the economy... coz with GST you spend more, you pay more to the government... which in turn may give the rest of us $$$ for GST rebate :bsmilie:

Actually from the last quote I got from MS Color, they also come with the Sony bag & additional original battery. Maybe you need to drop by a Sony Style shop to collect it... But frankly speaking I have yet to hear of someone getting a better deal from the Sony Style shop then from MS Color... Please correct me if I am wrong... :dunno:

You are right... Max Photo was the vendor for Sony's dslr at Sitex'08, but was not able to negotiate a better pricing from them compared to MS...
