A Wedding Bouquet

Here's a wedding bouquet that was taken today at my friend's flower shop. Cannot remember the name of the flower she used but apparently she said this is one of the more expensive flowers used for wedding bouquet. I think it costs her at least $20 a stalk.

This picture was taken with a EOS 10D at ISO 400 (aperture priority mode) with a 17-40 f/4 lens handheld. I bounced the light towards the ceiling board to create a bit of shading on the background. Picture was shot in raw and I did a little bit of retouching and converting it to black & white using the channel mixer with heavy weightage on the blue (75%) and less on red (15%) and green(10%).

The camera is probably 3-4 years old. I was the first hand owner before passing it to my business partner. I borrowed the camera from him for a shoot today and was pleasantly surprise that it is still a good workhorse after all these years. Kudos to the EOS 10D!

Cheers,

Daniel

Hey, really a pleasant photograph to look at. I cannot imagine, the last I've seen a 10D was 2 years ago? When my classmate bought it then, and yes, it's a well performing camera.

I love the photograph.

Hi Jeremy,

Thank you. I still owe you the cards. Btw, let's meet up rather after the new year begins (and after the weather gets better). I am sending a new book for binding - trying out straight bind with magazine style cover. You can take a look at them too.

Cheers,

Daniel

Nice pic. Do you have it in color? I'm interested to know what the flower's real colors look like...

Hi amusephotographer,

No noise reduction in both pictures. For the b/w, I played around with channel mixer and level.

Thanks for viewing

Daniel

nice pics

Did u noise-reduced the monochrome pic? Coz it appears that the colored version is noisier. Perhaps the colored version might look more attractive with some editing.
