i oso saw a grp of ppl playing with 孔明灯 in chinese garden ytd
But they are not as 'law-abiding' as your grp. they just flew all the way up.
like red little stars in the sky!
We can even see them from afar.

Aaahhh... thank you for telling me KT!
Now I know. Next time we shall just let go everything and let the lanterns carry our wishes far and wide!
Kam Sia Kam Sia!
But I wonder, in Singapore fireworks are banned for normal people, but the Floating Lanterns 孔明灯 with fire landed at someone's roof, car, clothing and etc are equal dangerous. :dunno:

Certainly I agree with you SilverPine.
In fact the amount of dripping wax from a floating lantern can be quite a lot.
And if you let it float up, you have absolutely no control where it may go from there.
That is clearly the reason why it is really not a good idea to let them just float off.
Haha... that is why I think my law-abiding daughter is correct in her insistence of tying a fishing thread to prevent the lanterns from 'flying-off'.. Hahaha...

Thank you so much, ireallydontlikepink!
Well, I must admit this set of photos aren't perfect, with out of focus shots and movement blur.
But I agree with your view that it records a happy moment with the family.
And the warmth of the closeness and bonding, documented in photography, is something that I would like to keep for posterity.
Thank you once again.
