1. in what area is critique to be sought?
Exposure , Composition, Lighting n Editing.

2. what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
a good portrait photo.

3. under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
Home studio with 1 speed light from the left.

4. what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture
pretty n sweet with a little sexy.

errr i think a bit too blue for me.... wb seems off

and sorry la. i never manage to learn how to appreciate xmm shots...

I think this is a very nice portrait shot! Although could be slightly improved by using a wider crop.. :)

As a general rule, I think it'll look bad if you frame a portrait with limbs below the elbow or knee chopped off.

Were you like only looking at the bottom third center part of the photo?

XMM meh? not LMM?

Overall, a bit under. Framing a little too tight. As mentioned, should not cut at the limbs. It makes her look amputated.

Thanks guys for the feedback. will take note on those points.

1. Lighting & exposure - ok, composition - can improve, too tight n her shirt edge is folded. Try not to cut or corp the picture at the joint, editing - try to soften the picture and she will look flawless.
2. All you need is practice.
3. Emotion.
4. Normal.

These are my personal feel by looking at the picture.
