Hi, i would prefer to give the background a bit blur and darking the 4 edges by using the burning tools. so the child face will be more focus!

the mood is great. good choice to use black and white. the composition of the light and dark areas works well for me, i focus on the subject's eye naturally.

Hi. Thanks for the comments.
No burning or dodging was done on the photo. Nor was any additional bluring added (i got a bit lazy).
Only postprocessing done were the conversion to mono, levels adjustment and unsharp mask.
Originally shot in color with Pentax Optio 30.

Some pictures miss out something....which I dunno what it is..but
