You mean Digital Cam? Normal Cam ISO depends on the film used actually.
For Digital Cam it is an estimate "equalvient" as compared to current film technology. If you have cam that can produce below ASA/ISO 100 quality (and they are truthful in their claims), then the quality should be better, as it lesser grain (in Digital cam it will be lesser noises).

As I look around, many consumer class digicameras especially ultra compacts or compacts come with meters that do auto ISO for each shot.... so u dun really know what the ISO is nor can u set it...
