Read that Sticky and start shooting first.
When the time comes, you will eventually buy a tripod.
I went without one for a couple of years.
i just got my canon eos 500D,
im a total newbie and i seem to get very dark shots with Manual.
i suppose it has something to do with aperture and shutter speed?

What is your average aperture and average shutter speed?if u are still confused about manual mode, go for tv or av mode first..before you start shooting, u have to know the average aperture and shutter speed
