I no longer consider single slot cameras as suitable for pro use for this reason. Yes, including nikon d700, df etc.. just my personal opinion..

Yes very very rare it happens but one time is fatal..

Easy to do with proper recovery software.

Never trust the OS option to "repair" the images on defective card.
