Thanks, points noted. I was a bit far away from the butt. Tough to approach these fellas without scaring them off. Had another shot of the same butt but the bg was even worse.

maybe the regular butt shooters can give better advice but
here is my 2 cents

let the lil fellers get used to your presence and inch closer
something like doing the leopard crawl for birding

that's what i do, sometimes you get the shot and sometimes you don't
but that is part of the fun ....

Thanks for the tips. Actually I was already almost prone on the ground for some of the shots.

Yup thats nature for you...but thats what makes it so much fun and unpredictable.
