From the rhythmic beat of the drums to the jaw-dropping stunts, theres just something about the lion dance that evokes a sense of awe and majesty. Steeped in tradition and culture, the lion dance has gained popularity across the globe over the years and is now an internationally recognised sport.
Calling all lion dance enthusiasts, head over to Chinatown to witness the power and strength of the King of the Lions over an intense competition on 26 January and an interesting exhibition competition over water on 27 January!
The annual event will see the best reputable and top troupes from Singapore and Asia Pacific, all vying for the grand prize and the honour of being recognised as the best of the best as they pit against one another with skillful stunts and intricate manoeuvres on the meihuazhuang on 26 January.
For the first time on 27 January, an exhibition competition will be organized where you will be charmed by the playfulness of the lions as they cavort on high stilts and perform nerve-wreaking stunts above a specially created water platform that will have you at the edge of your seat. So what are you waiting for? Make yourself free on those dates and come to hear the lions roar. This is one exhilarating experience you wont want to miss out on!
