5d2, liveview - cant trigger flash

i am a nikon user,
can i just check with you guys?

connected a 5d2,via hdmi to a 7inch field monitor (F&V), live view
but when i try to trigger a studio strobe with a trigger, it doesnt work
connect with sync cable to hotshoe or to sync port - doesnt work too

is that the norm?
or others camera can trigger it ?

Make sure your live view setting is set to still.

Try disabling the silent shooting mode or changing from 1 to 2.

at least better than my d700, totally cant live view at all :angry:


another question is when i live view to the F&V,
is it possible to set the exposure on the F&V that is not 'related' to the camera settings
in this case manual setting for studio strobe

cos the F&V will be too dark to see anything at all unless i have consider good amount of ambient ?

Yes. Disable exposure simulation.
