Hi CSers..

I'm a 500D user, currently thinking of getting flash for protrait shots (mostly indoor) and taking photos of toys. I'm not sure if i should get a battery grip since i have small hands (female) and weight is a concern to me.

I would like to know:
  • How many shots can I usually take using 580ex2/480ex2 without battery grip.
  • Any recommendation on which flash to use?

Thanks

The flash does not draw battery from the camera. It has it own power source

Both 580ex2 and 430ex2 uses 4 X AA batteries so you dont need a battery grip.

If budget is not a concern, get the 580ex2, which is more powerful and has more functions. The click wheel is also easier to use too.

Battery grip is not really needed as others have mentioned, the flash has it's own power source. 580ex2 is more powerful and more versatile and can be used to trigger secondary flashes.
