just found a book about photography which was printer in 1996, and found that lens like the 50mm f1.8 was already out then...jus want to find out, when was the 50mm f1.8 first produced?? :think:

The 50mm f/1.8 MkII model came out in 1990 I think... The 50mm f/1.8 MkI was around 1987 or just before.

Even the 50mm f/1.4 is relatively old, came out in 1993.

I bought my 50mm 1.8 Mark I in 1993 or 1994 I think.
Still in perfect condition - always kept dry when not in use.
It was about the last piece in Singapore I recall.
Only TK Foto had a couple left.
Mark IIs were everywhere (not as well built)
