What is 4R size ?

Width- How many pixels ?
Height- How many pixels ?

Documents size ?

Resolution ?

Another question. I haven tried printing with white borders. Will the white border cover the exisiting photo or is the photo made to fit into the white border.

Strictly speaking, 4R is 4 inches by 6 inches; it is purely a physical dimension independent of pixels and resolution.

If you choose 300 dpi then it's 1200 pixels by 1800 pixels, but it's really arbitrary. If you choose 1 dpi, then 4R is 4 pixels by 6 pixels.

Of course, you can't send a (4x6=) 24 pixel picture to print at 4R, but you don't need 300dpi either. At around 120-150 dpi, the print still looks pretty ok.

analogy:

the 3R, 4R, 5R, etc ~ volume
the how many megapixels ~ mass
the dpi ~ density.

mass / volume = density ;-)
