3rd Overseas Outing - Malacca + Port Dickson

Following the successful trip to Cambodia - Angkor Wat last year November, I shall be organising the 3rd overseas photography outing for Canon Users.


Departure Date : 13 April 2007, Friday
Time : 11pm (Meeting at Kranji MRT)
Transport : Own transport. Everyone will need to pay for the petrol + toll fee
Return Date : 15 April 2007, Sunday
Time : 3-4pm from Port Dickson

Itinerary :

Friday Night

- drive to Malacca,
- Check-in hotel at midnight upon arrival

Saturday

- wake up in the morning to have breakfast
- tour around Malacca town / scenic places
- depart to Port Dickson at 2-3pm
- arrive at Port Dickson in the evening
- proceed to rest place
- move around Port Dickson

Sunday

- wake up for breakfast (sunrise shoot prior to that)
- move around Port Dickson
- at noon, proceed back to rest place to pack everything for departure to Singapore
- at 2-3pm, drive back to Singapore

No. of cars needed will depend on the no. of travelers. Ideally, a size of 12 should be fine but we can increase the no. if necesary.

Total cost of the whole trip ~ <S$160 per person

At this point in time, I have not confirmed whether we are renting cars in JB or driving our own cars. Refer to this thread for subsequent update.

Cecil, based on my intelligence, it would be jam packed from 5.30 - 10pm at the Causeway. Therefore, it would be wiser to travel from 11pm onwards.

Easy. Buy a 2nd hand p&s canon then take with your own camera.

Leaving early on sat morning would be a safer option. Driving at night for those unfamiliar with Malaysian roads/way of driving is strickly not advised.

If tyou all leave at 4am, the jourbey will be smooth throughout and will arrive in Melacca just nice for Breakfast. Just rest earlier on Friday night.
