Has anyone tried this before? "Loreo 3D Lens in a Cap"

Link: http://www.loreo.com/pages/products/loreo_3dcap.html

Looks interesting, just mount the 3D lens on the camera like a cap, and you can get stereo photographs. You'll need a 3D viewer to see the effect.

Is this available in S'pore?

Thanx in advance!=)

I bought the item in HK a few months back but have not got around to use it yet.

It has only 2 aperture settings (f/11 and f/22), and there is no focusing (relying on the short focal length and small aperture for large DOF). Because the max aperture is f/11, the viewfinder is very dim, which might affect your framing at low-light conditions. Also, if your camera does not meter without a CPU lens (eg, D70), then you have to use manual exposure setting.

You can actually take 3D photos (stereographs?) without using such specialised lens, but with your normal lens. All you have to do is take 2 shots of the same scene, and move your camera a few inches to the side between the 2 shots.

I have described a technique here:

The photo links are dead in that thread. But I believe the idea is there.

Thanks.
