3 Days 2 Nights AMPAWA & BRYDES WHALE WEEKEND TRIP (20- 22 Sept 2013)
This weekend photographic trip comprises of Mae Klong Market (Railway Market), Ampawa Floating Market, Wat Baan Kung (Golden Buddha) & capturing of Sea Birds, Dolphin & Brydes Whale.
Mae Klong Market (Railway Market):
This is a unique market that is held every day literally on the rail tracks. Just before the train arrives in the town, the market stallholders have to pull back their awnings and remove their produce from the tracks. They then have to repeat all of this when the train returns. Fortunately it is not a busy track. The train leaves four times and it arrives four times. The track is not part of the national network. It only runs between Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkram.
Wat Baan Kung:
Inside Wat Baan Kung is a golden Buddha that has lain hidden for hundreds of years until it was discovered recently. Wat Baan Kung is a small chapel that is famous for being completely enclosed within the roots of a banyan tree called Bot Prok Po. Over 300 years old, the temple was built like any other, if not for the banyan tree called Bot Prok Po which started growing over and around it until completely encasing the chapel.
Ampawa Floating Market:
The canal-side way of life in Amphawa takes place along the waterfront walkways of Amphawa Canal, a small tributary of the Mae Khlong River. Every weekend Thais flock to the Amphawa Floating Market, as big queues emerge along the canal's bridges and walkways. While commercially developed, the old wooden houses and shopfronts retain some of their original charm.
Brydes Whale:

About Joseph Goh
Joseph is an international award-winning and self taught photographer. As an Associate Master Photographer, he has achieved various accolades from The Master Photographers Association (UK) and International Photography Awards (US). Josephs photography journey started at the age of 32 after he bought his first digital SLR in 2008. Since 2009, he has clinched numerous awards in international photography competitions. His photos were also featured in various publications and photography exhibitions. With his keen interest and great passion for photography, Joseph believes in sharing his knowledge with other like-minded photography
enthusiasts. He is also an instructor with Canon Singapore.
