Since Cambodia is one hour behind Singapore's time, their sunrise is at 6am sharp. However, Angkor is opened for visitors from 5am in the morning. So there is sufficient time for you to set up your equipments ;p

Angkor Wat is best visited during sunrise cos the sun will rise from behind.

another good place to go to is Bayon. it has lots of Buddha faces carved into its towers. the other is Beng Melea (hope i spelled it correctly). it's a newly found temple with no restoration done whatsoever. hence, a lot of ruins and thick vegetation. great place for you Indiana Jones out there.

check out my signature. i've got some shots of my last Siem Reap trip.

This is a very good deal .....
From my last trip, I think take the Tuk Tuk is ok since the distance from Wat to Wat is close, usually a few mins apart. 1 Tuk tuk can take in 4 persons.
Dont really need to plan any itinerary since most Tuk Tuk riders will speak English and know where to go .... a 3-day pass is adviced.
Angkor Wat looks best in the evening .... around 6-30pm

Hi,

I just went to Cambodia 2 months ago. Siem Reap and the Wats are Majestic!

Only a few pointers here.

I went via Jetstar = S$200 (6am flight, Friday)

Siem Reap departure tax : US$25.00

Tukuk can be cheaper like US$10 per day (2 person on each tuk tuk, so each US$5)
my driver become a good friend now.. (I would like to pass him our photos too)

Hotel : Bou Suay only US$15 per nite, shared between 2 person (provide free airport pick up too)

the Angkor Wats and other Wats : US$20/day, US$40/3 days.

Check out the local Mui Tai Kickboxing ring there.

Check out the lovely very colourful krama scarf : US$1 for 3 ouece (must bargain).
(can help me buy some scarfs ..and a few of their cool 3/4 cambodian rayon pants at US$2.50, which cost S$10 at Bugis here). - I should get more..

Siem Reap is a SANDY TOWN..so i would recommend : bring ziplock and cleaning eqpt, SAND Fly everywhere... trust me..

Batteries there cheap..:) I bought heaps of them there.

People are really nice.

Food good, but expensive..

Maybe you would like to take lifestyle scene there, kids pestering u buy stuff, busy markets, exotic food stall, anicent buildings, and four pple on a bike...etc...:D ;)
