Mark your calendars! The Republic of Singapore Navy Open House's gonna take place on 220510(Sat) and 230510(Sun).

Time : 0830 to 1630 hrs(Transport to CNB)
Transportation location: Singapore Expo Hall 1

Detailed Information:

Entry to RSNOH is by shuttle bus only from Singapore Expo Hall 1. The shuttle bus service will commence from 08:30 till 16:30 on both days.

[ By Car ]

2,200 car park lots are available for parking in the vicinity of the pick-up point at Singapore Expo. Car park rates from 7am - 5pm are;
First two hours = $2.30
Subsequent 1/2 hr = $1.10

Routes:

From PIE (exit 4A), turn into Simei Avenue, head into Upper Changi Road East and turn into Expo Drive where car park lots are located.

From ECP (exit 2B), connect to Xilin Avenue, connect to Upper Changi Road East or Changi South Avenue 1 or 3 and turn into Expo Drive where car park lots are located.

From TPE, turn into Upper Changi Road East and turn into Expo Drive where car park lots are located.

[ By Train ]

Travel on east-bound line and transit at EW4 Tanah Merah Station to CG1 Expo Station (about 3 mins). Upon exiting, head left towards Singapore Expo Hall 1.

[ By Bus ]

Passenger taking No.12, 24 & 38 should alight at bus-stop 96021 or 96029 along Upper Changi Road East. While passengers taking No.35 should alight at bus-stop 96221 or 96229 along Xinlin Avenue.

Bus Service Information:

SBS No.12 ply between Pasir Ris Interchange and New Bridge Road Terminal at frequency of 7 to 15 mins.

SBS No.24 ply between Ang Mo Kio Interchange and Changi Airport Terminal 2 at frequency of 6 to 13 mins.

SBS No.38 ply between Tampines Interchange and Bedok Interchange at frequency of 10 to 13 mins.

SBS No.35 is a looping service plying from Bedok Interchange to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

[ By Taxi ]

Taxi stand is located next to Expo Hall 6. Do note that there is an additional surcharge of $2 for all taxis departing from the Singapore Expo.

Don't miss the exciting Naval Displays at these times. Grab a seat at the spectator stand or a spot along the North Wharf and West Pier.

22 May: 10am and 3.30pm
23 May: 11.30am and 3.30pm

20,21 May: 10.30am and 3.30pm (Preview Days)

Ship Cruises

Our Missile Corvette, Patrol Vessels and Mine Countermeasure Vessel open their doors at these times. Ballot for a ticket at the information booth at the parade square. Recipients of the coveted tickets will be informed by their mobile phone about an hour before the start of each cruise. Do report to the ticket counter at the East Pier at least half an hour before cruise departure.

22 May: 11.30am, 12.55pm, 2.10pm, 4pm and 5.15pm
23 May: 9.50am, 1pm, 2.10pm, 4pm and 5.15pm

20,21 May: 12pm, 1.05pm, 2.10pm and 4pm (Preview Days)

Guided Tour of Frigate

You can find out more about the Frigate and life on board from our sailors at these times. Ballot for a guided tour at the information booth at the parade square.

Workshops

Learn the skills of a sailor at the 'Navy People tent'. Come and find out how to tie some naval knots, make a pipe on the Bosun call, communicate with the Morse code, or recognise the maritime signal flags. There is also Unarmed Combat Demonstration by our Sea Marshals.

i think it worth to visit the open house. i was a ex navy specialist & my ship even participate in the open house before :D

... bring towel, cold water & hats, it is very hot de !!! it is so hot that those food on sale is "automatically" heated under hot sun.

havent been to one before.

from the looks of things, maybe a 2 lens system to move light.

btw, just to ask...to get into the area will there be the customary metal detector check and so on?
 

entering saf premises sure have metal detector one.

any restrictions on lens that can bring in?
