Saw this in My paper this morning.

Have you got the passion for nature and photography? The Singapore Mint is holding a “Orchid” theme photography contest in conjunction with the launch of our 3rd series of Heritage Orchids of Singapore Commemorative coins issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Orchids signify strength, wealth, love as well as a rare and delicate beauty. Let your imagination run wild and take you beyond limitations. Simply, let your creative juices do the work. Show others the full grandeur of orchids, through your camera lens.

Send in your photograph entries by 7 December 2008 and stand to win attractive prizes up to $1300 in product hampers. Winners will have their works reproduced on a specially customized ez-link card and displayed at the Selegie Arts Centre!

Form is here:

quoted from the entry form ".......The winners will still own these images for their own portfolio, but not for any other commercial usage......."

not bad if you win but isn't it the same as you've no copyright to it in the end?

can you imagine the royalties on the photo if other entities wish to use it?

Wonder if the orchids need to be in a natural settings? :dunno:
