Just heard that 2 staff dead near pasir ris stn.
Shocked.
Now they really need to be serious to improve.

I hv a feeling that it could be another "gaps, gaps, gaps, gasp!" saga again.

Very sorry to read the news too, may their soul R.I.P.

it's so unfortunate.....

This is really sad day. :(

I hope this will not scare away those people, who just join the maintenance team or want to join the SMRT maintenance team.

It's kind of strange... There were 15 people walking in a single file... The supervisor just in front of them and the rest all behind them... And only they two got hit. Strange...

Many times truth is stranger than fiction...

Please do not spend your time in the net to speculate and let the authorities to investigate.

After all our efficient MTR is the envy of the world with a top team of highly qualified management.

Please leave it to the experts.

:)

my theory is that the second guy might have tripped on something and lost his balance while his buddy behind him tried to help him and too lost his balance.

As you can see from the various photos, the path is only 0.5m wide [barely the width of the human body] and dangerously close to the train. [you hv to consider that the width of the train is much wider than that of the rails shown in the pics.

once you lost your balance and with the train travelling at high speed, you could easily got "sucked" in.

Its MRT, not MTR

It seems that it has become a trend of passing the blame to the dead.

There is obviously a systemic flaw in the safety planning. All drivers should be alerted of any maintenance work being carried out and should be informed to approach the respective sector with caution.!! (The driver was reported to be shocked to see maintenance staff there)

The blame should not be only on those on the track for not taking the initiative.!
