2 slight problems with my D70

1. My focus area selection with the direction pad does not seem to work. I am on "dynamic" focus are selection but i cannot choose the focus point?

2. Sometimes after a take a photo, the shutter will not release again. i need to turn off and then on the cam for it to work? this happens when i have the inbuilt (external sometimes too i think) flash enabled. (i think it may just be "low batt" problem cos new batts solve it, im just checking)

any suggestions? thanks!

Dynamic Focus? then why do you need to shift the focussing point, dun think you can select it once you are on dynamic focus. either that or you check whether you locked the pad.

Check shutter speed?
