Was reading a lot of good reviews on the 18-70 (sharp at all focal length and less vignetting)when compared to 18-135 kit lens with the D80...

Should i sell off my 18-135 to get the 18-70?

Thanks

Vignetting can be solved in PS. Focal length difference cannot be solved by PS.

i have both lenses. I never noticed any vignetting on the 18-135mm. The image quality is the same. My vote is get the 135mm for that extra reach.

The only difference between the 2 is that focal length and the distance scale.

1. 18-135 is a longer focal length, but no distance scale.
2. 18-70 is shorter, but has a distance scale.

Up to you really to which is important.

I love my 18-135mm. It's an all rounder. My next lens will be the 50 mm f1.8 prime. Hehe

If your budget allows, why not consider the 18-200mm VR lens?

Not that much of an upgrade from the 18-135 or 18-70. It's convenient though, for when you don't want to change lenses at all.

I believe in normal shooting you will no be able to tell the optical difference between the 2. The 18-70 is better build though.

As for me, I am definitely keeping the 18-135.
